Alright, I'm just gonna straight say this. I have 3 in Min Scout so I only get the 45% off from PG/CPU on Cloak Devices.
I regularly run a basic Min-Scout with 2 MLT Shields, 1 Enhanced Damp, 1 Enhanced Shield Reg, Magsec SMG only, Basic Locus Grenades, Basic Drop uplink, and basic Cloak
This is about 12k ISK. I **** fools. I run around cloaked and regularly, in dom and completely solo, go 1.5 or better K/D and jack up an entire game. I can fire and destroy a Uplink and move back to cloak way to quickly. I can do it even faster when I toss my grenade since I don't switch my weapon.
I don't think they were a hundred percent necessary. I know my friend SouthPac is gonna put a bounty on my head but I have to say that it's kinda of crazy what I'm able to do with them so easily. I think 100% there should be a full 1s to 1.5s delay before you can fire a weapon while cloaked. Either that or there should be a 25% reduction to damage for 1s or 2s while cloaked. Or 25% reduction to EHP while cloaked. I don't care but there needs to be something. I'm just throwing some stuff out.
I'm also sick of this weird cloaked logi nonsense. Where you kill someone and you have an inch of life and someone decloaks who you suspected was there but since there was nothing happening thought it was in your head. That person decloaks, finishes you off, needles his/her team mate AND then reps them! Yes, 3 pieces of equipment. Did you know the Proto Republican Min Scout has 3 equipment slots? Bet you didn't. I'm using it now simply because it's that awesome! So awesome in fact, it's a FKN LOGI SCOUT THING. My amar logi has three equipment slots. It's practically the same.
I am not saying cloaks are OP. I'm saying that they are unbalanced for sure. That and the Mag-SMG is absolutely a Light Weapon equivalent if you shoot down the site...period. Range is absurd. I know because I used it to go 19/3 in a basic Min Heavy suit with two enhanced side arm dmg mods and enhanced armor rep in the low slot.
I don't know. I'm not really ranting but just wanted to throw this out there. I want you go back to the top and see what I run 90% of the time. My numbers are substantially better when I run proto with LP. I brick tank cloak with my ARR and go whole games without dying once and that is with just a basic cloak. I haven't skilled into ADV yet. If you have to know it's because I'm waiting until I am proto in scout and can get to 5 in Elect/Eng (currently at 4) so I can be sure I have enough PG/CPU to be able to run what I want to run. |

You should now notice one of two things. Either you're a half-decent Scout and the cloak only helped you to be slightly better at it, or you're a bad Scout and when people start to pay attention to cloaked enemies, you'll be dying really fast and complaining about a "ninja nerf" to your cloaking which is actually the result of other players learning to actually shoot those blue glowy things that look like Scouts.
This doesn't make any sense. I kill tons of cloaked scouts. I don't understand what your point is. You think that i'll learn that cloaking is a crutch for bad players? Anyway, the point of the post is to show that good players don't need the cloak to be good and bad players don't really use it well anyway but it helps them not be so bad. It was also to highlight the Super Scout Logi suit as well. |

I will accept that MAYBE it isn't the cloak itself that is unbalanced but it could be the scout as a whole but that's it. I need a genuinely good explanation for the justification for more than 1 equipment slot. And for all of the people that answer know that it is insufficient. How can a suit that is meant to be light and nimble have more available slots total to manipulate than a heavy?
Something has to give somewhere. Having 3 equipment slots just doesn't make sense. |
